    1954: Denzel Washington is born in Mount Vernon, New York on December 28th uniquelastname. 1975: Washington graduates from Fordham University with a degree in Drama and Journalism. 1977: Washington makes his feature film debut in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, “A Soldier’s Play.” 1981: Washington stars in the Broadway production of “A Soldier’s Story”, for which he is nominated for a Tony Award nationaldaytime. 1987: Washington stars in the box office hit, “Cry Freedom”. 1989: Washington wins an Academy Award for his performance in “Glory”. 1993: Washington stars in the hit movie, “Philadelphia”. 1995: Washington wins his second Academy Award for his performance in “The Hurricane”. 1998: Washington stars in “He Got Game” and “Fallen” nextnationalday. 2006: Washington directs and stars in the hit movie, “The Great Debaters”. 2012: Washington stars in the movie “Flight”, for which he is nominated for an Academy Award. 2016: Washington stars in the movie “Fences”, for which he wins the Academy Award for Best Actor. 2018: Washington stars in the movie “The Equalizer 2” and the television series “The Book of Negroes”. 2020: Washington stars in the movie “The Little Things” orissatimes.
