William Frederick Durst was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on August 20, 1970. Durst is a well-known American actor and filmmaker. His family relocated him to Orlando, Florida, and then to Cherryville, North Carolina, not long after his birth.
Fred was raised on a farm until he was in fifth grade. He and his family relocated to Gastonia, North Carolina, completing his secondary education. Fred Durst was raised in a Wiccan family throughout his boyhood. Durst began listening to hip hop when he was 12 years old.
He honed his skills in various musical genres, including breakdancing, rapping, skating, beatboxing, and deejaying. However, he was a devotee of heavy metal and punk music. After graduating from high school, Fred Durst enlisted in the United States Navy, but he barely lasted two years before leaving.
Durst returned to Jacksonville and worked as a tattoo artist and gardener. His urge to establish a hip hop/rock band became more vigorous during this period.

The band was founded in 1994 by Fred Durst, Sam Rivers, John Otto, and Wes Borland. The alias was selected to discourage people from listening to their music. Hits such as “Straight Up” aided the band’s entry into the underground music scene.
When Limp Bizkit was playing in their city, Durst brought Korn to his house to show them the band’s demo recordings. Consequently, Korn decided to add Limp Bizkit to their record label. Wes Borland quit Limp Bizkit to pursue a solo career with DJ Lethal. The band released their first album in 1997 with a great response after signing a new record contract.
Despite the album’s failure, Durst was promoted to Senior Vice President of A&R at Interscope Records following its release. Durst then worked with other bands such as Soulfly and Korn. Limp Bizkit’s music videos were his first attempt at filmmaking.
Limp Bizkit rose to prominence as a result of “Significant Other.” The album debuted at the top of the charts, and music reviewers lauded it for its unique sound.
